Anchorage Ship Creek RV Park
Ship Creek RV Park is only a short distance from downtown Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city.
The park has full hookups, including water, sewer, and electrical. Some large pull-thru sites for big rig RV’s are available. Facilities include restrooms, free hot showers, and laundry facilities. Other amenities include bike rentals and a reservation booking desk for local tours. 1000 W. 2nd Ave, Anchorage.
One of the best features of the RV park is its proximity to Ship Creek, which provides excellent fishing, especially during the salmon runs. It’s a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive to downtown Anchorage to explore various city attractions, restaurants, shops, and cultural sites. It is also located near The ULU Factory, one of Anchorage’s best attractions.
Centennial Campground
Located within the Chugach State Park, about 7 miles from downtown Anchorage. It offers 72 RV and tent sites with fire rings, picnic tables, and access to hiking trails. Located at Mile 1.2, Centennial Park Road, Anchorage, Alaska.
Centennial Campground offers a peaceful camping experience within the scenic Chugach State Park. It provides a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Alaska while being relatively close to the city of Anchorage.
There are basic facilities such as restrooms, picnic tables, and fire rings. Centennial Campground has access to several hiking trails. The Albert Loop Trail offers beautiful views along the trail.

Golden Nugget RV Park
Situated in Anchorage, this RV park offers full hookups, laundry facilities, and is close to local attractions like the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Located at 4100 Debarr Road.
Golden Nugget RV Park is a privately-owned campground which offers a convenient location for exploring the city’s attractions. While it may not provide the same wilderness experience as some of the more remote campgrounds, it offers easy access to the urban amenities of Anchorage.

Creekwood RV Park
Located about 10 minutes from downtown Anchorage, this park offers RV sites with full hookups and is close to plenty of shopping and dining options. 2150 Seward Highway.
Campground facilities include showers, restrooms, RV sani-dump and a laundromat with modern machines.
Eklutna Lake Campground
Eklutna Lake Campground is run by the state of Alaska in Chugach State Park. The Eklutna Recreation Area offers an incredible list of activities for visitors during the summer months. Activities in the surrounding area include hiking, biking, fishing, boating, kayaking and ATVing.

Eagle River Campground
Around 13 miles from Anchorage, it is situated in Chugach State Park and offers beautiful scenery, hiking trails, and 57 RV and tent sites. The campground is near the small community of Eagle River, at mile 12 of the Glenn Highway. The address is 17111 South Birchwood Loop Road, Chugiak

Big Bear RV Park & Campground
Big Bear Campground is situated in Wasilla, approximately 44 miles north of Anchorage. 2010 S. Church St, just off the Parks Highway for those heading north to Denali National Park.
Big Bear Campground has 47 RV sites, 6 cabins and 6 tent sites. Facilities include showers, Wi-fi and a sani-dump station. The location in the Mat-Su valley provides visitors easy access to Wasilla, Palmer and Anchorage.
Bird Creek Campground
Approximately 20 miles south of Anchorage on the Seward Highway, this campground offers 22 sites for RVs and tents, and it’s an excellent spot for fishing and wildlife viewing. Located at Milepost 101 Seward Highway.
Bird Creek Campground is a popular spot for both locals and tourists due to its proximity to Anchorage and its beautiful views of Turnagain Arm. There are basic amenities such as restrooms, water, and trash disposal.
Bird Creek is well-known for its salmon fishing, attracting anglers during the salmon runs. The area around Bird Creek Campground offers hiking trails and opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. It’s not unusual to encounter black bears in this area, so be prepared and don’t hike without proper safety awareness. Visitors should also keep an eye out for marine wildlife, like Beluga whales, which are commonly spotted in the waters of Turnagain Arm.
Williwaw Campground
Also located in Chugach State Park, about 60 miles south of Anchorage, near Whittier. The campground offers beautiful views, hiking trails, and 60 RV and tent sites. Located at mile 4 of the Portage Highway (turn east at mile 79 of the Seward Highway).
Williwaw Campground is near the Begich – Boggs Visitor Center, which has excellent information on Portage Valley activities, which includes hiking, glacier viewing and rafting. This is an excellent mid point for those heading south to Seward to explore the Kenai Fjords National Parks.
