Gold Dredge 8 After a short presentation at the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, ride an original narrow-gauge train while learning the history of Gold Mining in Alaska. Along the route you will learn how gold was mined during the gold rush and more modern times and see Gold Dredge 8.
After a short course in gold panning, guests have the chance to pan for gold, and are guaranteed to find it. After panning, there are free refreshments in the gift shop that you can enjoy while getting your gold weighed. You are also free to explore the historic Gold Dredge 8 on your own. The tour is handicap accessible, take approximately two hours and operates daily during the summer.
